Your Chao’s stats each have three things; a number, a grade, and a level. You can check your Chao’s stats and levels by picking them up.
The grades range from E to S, with E being the lowest, and S the highest (S, A, B, C, D, E). Your Chao will start at a low level, and grade, and as you give it fruits, animals, and chaos drives, the stats will increase.
Your Chao is graded in five areas: Swimming, Flying, Running, Power and Stamina. The higher a Chao’s grade, the more points it will gain when it levels up. The max level your Chao can become is 99.
How to check a Chao’s grades? Take it to the Chao Doctor in the Kindergarten!
Making an SSSSS Chao
Now, you may notice that the best Chao would be an SSSSS grade Chao right? Well lets make one!
Well, when you first hatch your Chao, it won’t be an All S Chao, in fact it won’t even be an all A Chao! So we got some work to do.. Ok then, hatch some Chao, or look around your gardens for Chao with at least one A grade for one (or more) of its stats. If you have Chao with S Grades that’s even better!
Now, look through them and try to make it so you have at least an A grade in each stat. If you have say, two Chao with an A in swimming, you only need one. You should now have five or less Chao, so each Chao has a stat covered.
Now let me tell you how breeding and grades work. The baby of two adults has the potential of being better than them. For example:
BBASA + BAAAB = BAASA (with luck) grades.
You can see in that example that the baby has inherited the best stat from each adult.
Also, when a baby Chao evolves into an adult, it will raise a grade! The grade that raises depends on what it has evolved into! For example, if you had a Baby Chao with an “A” grade in running, and it evolved into a Basic Sonic Chao, its grade would go up to S!
If it evolves into a normal Chao, the stamina grade will increase. This is also true if it evolves into a Chaos Chao.
So if you have a SSSSA Chao you want to make into a maxed out Chaos Chao, it is fine because the stamina grade will turn into an S grade!
So, now you know what to do. Raise a few Chao at once raising grades via the first evolution, then wait until it reincarnates, and repeat. Keep doing this until you get an SSSSS Chao! Also to help speed it up, breed the Chao as you go along, for a chance of a more powerful Baby Chao.
Max Chao Stats
So how high can a Chao’s stats get? Well, firstly we need a newborn SSSSS Chao (not a reincarnated one)… now how high can the stats get? Well there are a maximum of 99 levels, each level raises the stats by 26-30 points. Once it hits level 99, its stats can’t increase anymore. So to get the best Chao you need to get 30 points at each level raise. But this is where luck comes in: the game chooses randomly what figure it will be (between 26 and 30). So getting max stats is EXTREMELY hard unless you reset every level up until you get a 30 point raise.
Then the Chao reincarnates. As you know, a reincarnated Chao keeps 10% of its stats… now for the maths stuff:
A newborn SSSSS Chao that has increased by 30 each level up, will be at 2970 points in all stats when they reach level 99.
10% of 2970 is 297. So when it reincarnates each stat will have 297 points.
So now it is on its second life, and starts from level 1 (not level zero – which is why we needed a newborn SSSSS Chao and not a reincarnated one), and so we can get a total of 98 level ups. So if you get a 30 point raise in each of these, you will get a total of 2940 points from leveling up. Now add this to the 297 points it had when it reincarnated and that is 3237 points in each stat.
Now the Chao reincarnates again. 10% of 3237 is 323.7 (this is rounded down to 323). So now if the levels raise by 30 points for all 98 levels, it again gives you 2940 points from leveling up. Add this to the 323 points it had when it reincarnated and that is 3263 points in each stat.
Now the Chao reincarnates again. 10% of 3263 is 326.3 (round down to 326). Again with 30 points for each level, over 98 level ups, you get 2940. Add this to 326 and get 3266 points in each stat.
Now, this is where it stops. Why? Well since the game always rounds down decimals, it won’t go any higher, lets see why:
When the Chao reincarnates, it keeps 10% of its stats. 10% of 3266 is 326.6, rounded down to 326 (the same as the Chao started the last life with) so it will never advance higher. But like explained before this is ONLY if you get a 30 point raise in each stat EVERY TIME you level up! SO VERY HARD. If you have done this then you are extremely lucky and deserve a noble prize!
So the perfect Chao is 3266 in each stat… which would require a lot of resetting to achieve the required level ups…
